Reindeer Status: All Green
Before Santa can take off, Mission Control needs one very important report. Reindeer status.
Before Santa can take off, Mission Control needs one very important report.
Reindeer status.
Each member of Santa’s flight team is monitored from the Reindeer Station inside Mission Control. The elves there watch readiness information before departure and continue checking the team throughout Christmas Eve.
Before the reindeer leave their barn, they receive a final check. Harnesses are inspected. Bells are secured. Flight equipment is tested. Everyone gets fed.
Yes, reindeer snacks are an official part of flight preparation.
Once the team is harnessed to the sleigh, Mission Control confirms each reindeer individually.
One by one, their indicators turn green.
When every reindeer is ready, the main board displays:
REINDEER STATUS: ALL GREEN.
But the monitoring doesn’t stop after takeoff.
Throughout Santa’s journey, the Reindeer Team watches for changes. Long-distance flying is hard work, so scheduled rest checks and snack breaks are part of the plan.
If a reindeer needs extra attention, Mission Control can tell Santa and help adjust the flight plan.
Near the end of the night, the team watches one final measurement: distance to home.
As Santa approaches the North Pole, the number gets smaller and smaller.
Then the sleigh lands.
The reindeer return to their barn for food, water, rest and a well-earned Christmas morning nap.
Mission Control changes their status one final time:
FLIGHT COMPLETE.
