Meet the North Pole Night Shift

When most of the North Pole Village gets quiet, another team is just getting started.

Meet the Night Shift.

There is Nova Nightlight, who checks the glowing signs around the Village.

Benny Bells walks through the sleigh barn checking harness bells and insists he can tell which reindeer is approaching by the sound of the jingle.

Mira Moonbeam works in Santa’s Mail Station, where late-arriving letters are sorted into the morning delivery bins.

And then there is Pip.

Pip’s official job is Nighttime Toy Factory Floor Checker.

Pip’s unofficial job appears to be discovering snacks.

The Night Shift checks doors, prepares supplies for the morning teams, watches weather reports, keeps the cocoa station stocked, and handles little problems while everyone else sleeps.

They rarely get the biggest cheers because much of their work happens when nobody is watching.

But that does not make their work less important.

Some of the most valuable helpers are the people quietly making tomorrow easier.

So tonight, when the North Pole lights glow against the snow, remember there are still elves working behind those windows.

And Pip is probably looking for another cookie.
