The Great Wrapping Paper Mix-Up
The wrapping department has a system. Red paper goes on Shelf A. Green paper goes on Shelf B.
The wrapping department has a system.
Red paper goes on Shelf A.
Green paper goes on Shelf B.
Snowflake paper goes on Shelf C.
Sparkly paper goes somewhere very carefully because glitter has a way of becoming a permanent North Pole resident.
One December afternoon, an elf named Ziggy moved several rolls while cleaning.
Unfortunately, Ziggy forgot to tell anyone.
The next morning, the wrapping crew found dinosaur paper where the snowflakes should be, candy-cane paper beside birthday balloons, and one roll labeled DO NOT OPEN UNTIL JULY.
For ten minutes, everyone searched.
Then someone suggested a radical idea.
"Let's stop and reorganize."
So they did.
They labeled the shelves more clearly.
They added picture labels.
They created a return basket for paper that needed to be put away.
And they asked Ziggy to help design the new system.
The wrapping department ended up more organized than it had been before the mix-up.
Mrs. Claus calls that a North Pole Upgrade:
When something goes wrong and you use what happened to make the system better.
